The Spirit is ever willing to engage in the Journeys of Encounter but the flesh needs to be brought under alignment continually to accommodate such realities.
Yeshua speaking to His disciples was pointing them to the keys of receiving and sustaining encounters.
WATCH AND PRAY!!!!!
Temptations are always projected to challenge the encounters of men and until we stand fast with the 7 parts of the Armour of God, falling in temptation is inevitable.
Christ sounded this to the disciples more than once and is still sounding this to us in this season and beyond to emphasize the urgency of WATCHING AND PRAYING.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO WATCH?🤔
To watch means to be alert and keep vigilance. It means to pay keen attention to things, events and situations. It also means to be be awake both in mind and spirit. To stay woke and others will put it. To keep guard and be aware or conscious of things.
There are so many influences and energies penetrating the earth realm from the realms of light and the realms of darkness.
These energies and influences carry in them encounters of good and bad kinds and our best guard to discern, protect and advance the workings of God in our lives and world is to WATCH.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO PRAY?🤔
To pray means a lot of things to different people but something we should keep in mind when praying is that; PRAYERS HELPS US TO EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE THE HOLY STREAMS OF DIVINE ENCOUNTERS THROUGH US TO THE EARTH REALM.
👁️WATCHING AND PRAYING THRIVES ON THE PLATFORM OF FASTING(HUMBLING THE FLESH)
👁️ Watching and Praying are Siamese twins. They are so linked together that watching enhances prayers and prayers enhances watching.
Scripture speaking in Colossians 3:2 says expressly

2 “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving”

….CONTINUE IN PRAYER AND WATCHING……🤔 and in this way we would not fall in temptation.
The best way to watch and pray is to have the knowledge and use of the whole ARMOUR GOD has made available to us.
WHAT ARE THE PARTS OF THESE AMOUR?

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

There are six components of the ARMOUR of GOD with Prayer and Watching been the seventh components.
It is important to note that the scripture still mentioned praying and watching to emphasize the urgency of the matter at hand.
THE ARMOUR OF GOD ARE;
📌The Belt of Truth.
📌The Breast Plate of Righteousness.
📌The Shoes that carry tidings of the Gospel of Peace.
📌The Shield of Faith.
📌Helmet of Salvation.
📌The Sword of the Spirit.
📌Prayers and Watching.

Truth is a weapon.
Righteousness is a weapon.
The Gospel of Peace is a weapon.
Salvation is a weapon.
The Word of God is a weapon.

These are all channels of encounters through which God reaches men and they are enhanced through the ministry of Praying and Watching.
WHAT DO THESE ARMOURS SIGNIFY AND DO?🤔
Scripture clearly points us to what and who truth is. TRUTH IS YESHUA. He says I am the way, the Truth and the Life…🤔
It is not without reason that the first part of the Armour is likened to the BELT OF TRUTH(JESUS).
It is Jesus that holds the remaining parts of the Armour together. He is the belt that keeps the other parts in check and is the centre holding everything together. So as we pray and watch we encounter JESUS(TRUTH) in higher dimensions and we are set free. Knowing Jesus is a continuous thing.
“…Ye shall know the truth (Yeshua) and the truth shall set you free..”
PRAY AND WATCH THAT YOUR LOINS WILL BE CONTINUALLY COVERED WITH THE BELT OF TRUTH, FOR THE FIRST ATTEMPT OF THE ENEMY IS TO DISGRACE US THROUGH TEMPTATION.

The scripture says we should wear the righteousness Christ(Truth) has purchased for us as a breastplate. And since breastplates cover the chest, this is targeted towards our hearts.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see(encounter) God.
Without Righteousness we can’t effectively watch and pray and so we are called into a life of righteousness.
Scripture says in James 5 : 16;
16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”

Let us have our feet ready to carry about the Gospel of Peace everywhere we go.

How is this part of the Armour of God?
The Gospel of Peace is the gospel of reconciliation that brings men back into effective relationship with God and with each other. It is the main ingredient in maintaining unity and oneness. So the enemy target is that he stills the peace of men so they can’t have the boldness to watch and pray effectively for one another. Scripture says we should always be ready to spread the fragrance of God abroad.

Faith that is alive is a Great Shield. It is what prevents us from displeasing God and protects us from all the temptations and arrows projected against us to intercept our encounters.
TAKE UP THE SHIELD OF FAITH THAT YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO NEUTRALIZE THE ASSAULTS OF THE ENEMY THROUGH WATCHING AND PRAYING.

The Helmet of Salvation gives us assurance that we are no longer a slave to the obstacles that challenge our sovereignty in God.
Helmets protect the head which is where our mind is located. It is important to note that the Helmet of the Salvation of God protects us from PRIDE, the enemy of men’s Encounter!!!
It qualifies us for obtaining more grace. For it is written; God resists the proud but gives MORE GRACE to the humble.
The Helmet of Salvation is our sure protector against pride.
A proud man is blinded from watching and praying and therefore falling is inevitable for such a man. Indeed pride goes before a fall.
